Over the years the word spa has been used extensively in South Africa to describe many things, some of them not really living up to what you expect. Have a look at the International Spa Association's definitions of different types of Spa. Hoogland will fit the bill for as a Destination Spa, a Medical Spa and a Mineral Spring Spa, but we are also much more than that.Some people describe Hoogland as a Health Farm because of the beautiful setting in the picturesque Shurveberg hills, some people describe us as a health retreat because it is one of the few places you can visit on your own and regroup naturally, and to some people it is a home away from home.
